Unlicensed cartridge manufacturers were using the substance, a common ingredient in beard cream, to thicken the cartridge oil and boost profit margins. After the poisonings, officials at the CDC said the number one thing state cannabis regulators could do to protect public health was ensure that “chemicals of concern” like vitamin E acetate did not enter the state-licensed THC vape cartridge supply. As of early 2021, cannabis regulators have not done that.Jump to a sectionSafety gap 1: emissions testingSafety gap 2: known toxinsSafety gap 3: mystery additives and flavorsPotential solutionsWhat consumers can doPart 2: What’s in your vape cart? Then, zero air flow.Legal THC vape rules need tightening: Here’s why. ![]() ![]() Appears totally fine and air flow seems normal until you screw it into the pen. I’ve had a leaky cart before and this one isn’t leaking. Pretty sure it’s not “clogged” in the way that literally every google search result talks about. Just got some pre-filled West Coast Vape carts and they’re all working other than one, which appears fine and has airflow when NOT screwed into my pen, but as soon as you start screwing it in (even just barely in the pen - not even fully screwed) you immediately lose all air flow, so it’s impossible to hit. New question: Is it possible/safe to somehow unscrew this metal base/threading with the holes and replace it with a proper one from one of my old/empty carts? So that's WHY there's no air flow when it's screwed in. *Update: Was just comparing it once more to the other carts I got and I realized it is missing the two little side holes that are supposed to sit right above the threading. ![]()
